The Portland Arms, Cambridge
Drunk With A Pen proudly presents Songs & Stories: an evening of music and poetry at the Portland Arms, Cambridge . Featuring music from Hollie Rogers and Chris Fox.
Introducing the glorious Hollie Rogers to Cambridge: one of Sussex’s finest singers and songwriters. Hollie is a powerful and engaging performer, whose songs of love and lust have supported Suzanne Vega, Paolo Nutini and Ben Howard.
“A magnificent and powerful voice.”Suzanne Vega
Chris Fox is rapidly building a reputation as one of Cambridge’s strongest (and hardest-working!) emerging talents. Delicately fingerpicking his way through the haunting melodies of his original work, plus engaging performances of traditional songs, he is set for great things in 2018.
Joseph J Clark, aka Drunk With A Pen, will perform from his collection of 13.5 poems about drink and drinking: ranging from serious and personal stories, to thoughtful observations about drinking culture, to humorous odes to booze. This is poetry for the drinking classes: accessible, understandable and entertaining.
“Performance poetry at its most accessible... a bit like being in the pub with a more interesting raconteur then you can usually rustle up.”Broadway Baby
